Modern interior design is enhanced by clean lines, hidden elements, and fluid, open spaces. Traditional doors with heavy timber architraves and bulky frames can disrupt this seamless flow and create visual clutter. EZ Concept® understands the desire for sophisticated, streamlined interior spaces which is why the iconic EzyJamb frameless door jambs were designed. To ensure a seamless integration of architrave-free doors across both hinged and sliding door options, EZ Concept® also offer high-quality, easy-to-install flush cavity sliders.
If you have been looking to elevate your architectural project with a premium cavity slider, you have likely come across the SlideSet® and CavKit® systems. While they are often mentioned together, it is important to note the different functions that they serve. Which system you need depends on the final look you are hoping to achieve in your space, and if you want the complete flush-finish cavity sliding system, both SlideSet and CavKit can be combined to achieve this elevated finish.
Understanding the Difference Between SlideSet® and CavKit®
CavKit® Flush Cavity Slider Trims
CavKit is an innovative trimming system made in Australia from durable zinc-annealed steel sections. It does not include the sliding door frame itself. Instead, it transforms standard cavity sliders by replacing traditional timber architraves. The CavKit system caps and trims the plasterboard edges around an existing door penetration, to create a seamless, architrave-free pocket door. Multiple closer cap options are available, including Standard Closer Cap and EzyCap depending on your desired finish.
Once plastered in and painted, CavKit seamlessly finishes the plasterboard edges, leaving a completely square-set, flush-finished opening. It is the ideal choice if you are looking to upgrade an existing pocket door with a premium, trim-free architectural finish, or to complete your premium SlideSet cavity sliding door with a trim-free look.
SlideSet® Cavity Sliding Door
SlideSet is a full cavity slider system. It comes supplied as a pre-assembled, rigid steel cage that includes the full wall framing, premium recessed sliding tracks, and high-quality ball-bearing rollers.
SlideSet features concealed hardware to minimise the gap between the door and the track. It also includes stoppers with retention devices to keep the door perfectly in position. SlideSet is the go-to solution for new builds or renovations where a sturdy, reliable sliding door frame is required. To achieve the complete, flush finish look, install CavKit trims to cap the system in place of traditional architraves.
To further enhance the luxurious experience of SlideSet premium sliding doors, a push-to-release mechanism, and soft closers can be used. RocYork® NoHa handles can also be integrated for a refined, modern finish.
The Complete Flush Sliding Door Solution
CavKit and SlideSet are sold separately, however the true, flush finish look can be achieved when they are paired together. By combining these two systems, you create a comprehensive, single-source flush cavity slider system.
There are multiple closer cap options available to create your ideal sliding door package. For enhanced privacy and light-blocking the CavKit’s Standard Closer Cap can be used. Alternatively, the EzyCap® option allows for the door to butt up against a flat jamb, ideal for spaces where the door is kept open for the majority of the time. Additionally, SlideSet can be ordered with a full-height detail, allowing the track to sit completely flush with the ceiling for an uninterrupted flow between living zones.
