Marèa – Mermaid Waters, QLD

Enter a light filled, modern Mediterranean escape right on the waterfront of Mermaid Waters, Queensland.

HOVEN’s latest build Marèa brings the grandeur of a luxury home to one which captures the warmth and ease of the Mediterranean in its colour palette and elegant curves. It boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, five parking spaces, and is minutes away from schools and childcare.

Bronze tapware, deep walnut cabinetry, and smooth textures add depth to rooms bathed in natural light. Curved walls and archways add softness to the interior, while arched windows frame exquisite water views.

The modern aesthetic of this design is complemented by the square-set finishes around the swing doors, cavity sliders and windows throughout the house. It creates a calm ambience where each element feels tailored to suit the whole.

Shane Wynhoven, HOVEN®

The Homes by Hoven team were drawn to EZ Concept’s Door Suite package to encapsulate subtle square-set finishes throughout the home. This pack is an assembly of EzyJamb® Frameless Door Jambs, RocYork® Door Hardware, and EzyDor® Flush Panel Doors. Each part of the Door Suite aligns with the same minimalist finish which allows the key design features to take centre stage.

The EzyJamb® Single Rebate profile was selected to create discreet openings between rooms throughout Marèa. This profile offers a single flush side on one side of the door which it swings open towards, creating a seamless continuation of the wall. On the reverse side, a crisp, minimal rebate aligns with other areas of the house.

The EzyJamb wasn’t selected only for the look it creates. It was also a convenient option, prepped in advance to suit the doors and hardware included within the Door Suite. This meant that on site, the team only had to assemble and install. The Hoven team found the process simple, so much so they were used throughout the home.

The HOVEN team’s unwavering dedication to minimalist design drew them to pair EzyJamb with RocYork® Concealed Hinges. The square-set finishes were preserved by layering these two products in each door opening. Unlike traditional hinges, there is no visible barrel to protrude from the door when installed.

Where other hinges would interrupt the seamless opening, RocYork Concealed Hinges are embedded within the jamb and the door. They can be adjusted across three axes for a perfect fit and available in colours which complemented the rest of the house. The EzyJamb profiles used in Marèa were prepped ahead of time to house these hinges, fast-tracking the installation process.

EZ Concept’s EzyDor® Flush Doors were the final piece which completed each hidden door within Marèa. The HOVEN team opted for a durable and popular option in the Frame Core EzyDor, which became an integrated part the wall face on the flush side of the door. Along with the EzyJamb frames in this project, each door was prepped ahead of time for expedited installation. Each door was crafted to suit its accompanying jamb and hardware.

Concealed, square-set doors did not stop at swing doors in Marèa. SlideSet® Flush Cavity Sliders were also selected for the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom doorways. These sliding door systems were accompanied by CavKit® Door Trim Kits. Collectively, these installations created a diverse integration in bedrooms and the adjoining wardrobes and ensuites. When left open, they create a connection directly to the bathroom. By using the CavKit and SlideSet together, the door nestles within the closer cap when closed. Greater privacy than standard sliding doors was created, and the light which filters through the vertical gap between wall and door was removed.
